Reflection: Lincoln Story

In the video Abraham Lincoln was offered some whiskey throughout their journey but he refused. Later as the story went on, the Colonel now had offered him to have smoke with him and that’s when Lincoln told him the story. He said as a young boy about 9 years old his mother was really ill and she had told him that the doctor had told her that she may not make it because she was really sick. Then she told him to never try whiskey or tobacco in his life as a promise to her. The Colonel understood why he didn’t want to and didn’t obligate him to do it because it as a really good promise to do. So Lincoln didn’t break it.
