Glenn Cunningham

Glenn Cunningham went through many things at a young age. His legs were burned in a fire at school and lost his brother in the fire. The doctors predicted he wouldn’t be able to walk normally again. They were going to amputate his leg but his parents said no. He lost all his toes from his left leg. His determination and faith lead him to walk at 2 years later after the accident. He stared to walk more and then eventually started to run in competitions. Throughout his life he competed and was announced to be one of the “Most Popular Athlete”.  He even has a park named after him in his hometown Elkhart, Kansas.

Reflection: In my opinion he was a really brave man. He went through many things as a young kid. But his faith and determination kept him going on in life. He never gave up. He challenged himself to run even though his legs were once burned in an accident at school. He had no toes in his left leg. He completed in many races and miles.  That makes him a really determined person for never giving up .Going way farther because the doctors had told him he wouldn't be able to walk normally if got to walk once again.
