Duties
and Responsibilities:
Recognizes, evaluates, and
controls chemical, physical, and biological hazards in the work place.
Evaluates university compliance with regard to state and federal occupational
health and safety regulations, laws, rules, and codes. Educates and informs employees
and students about occupational health and safety hazards. This is a
specialized classification and is distinguished from the Health/Safety
Specialist in that incumbents perform industrial hygiene functions.
Salary: $77,857
Education: Industrial Hygiene is a health profession that
uses the concepts of the natural sciences and mathematics, the principles of
engineering, and effective public-health management skills to identify,
characterize, and control biological, chemical, physical, and psychosocial
agents of disease, disability, or discomfort that may arise in or from the
workplace and affect the health or standard of living of workers and/or the
community at large.
Reflection: No, i wouldn't like to be an Industrial Hygienists because I'm not interested in this type of careers.
